I once had a RES that was extremely picky about what he ate. I often had to make my own food for him (which included fresh trout), which I did put into ice cubes and froze. It got to be rather expensive...

how do you make pellets, do you like smuch them together?

Welcome. :) I didn't make pellets---I mixed all the ingredients together with plain gelatin and put the mixture into ice cube trays (I had some that made small ice cubes), then I put the trays in the freezer. At feeding time I'd break off part of one of the cubes.
