Urgent Care :: Turtle is falling apart!

Well so i have a RES, probably for like 4 months now. So i went to feed him, which i do in a seperate container so he doesn't muck up his normal tank, and i put him down and i notice this chunk came off of him. So i kinda examined him and it came off the bottom of his shell. It was like a red splotch and i see several morre forming but smaller, and the chunk that came off was slightly thick, like it had some white stuff on it. I'm kinda freaking out because i dont know what to do and i don't want him to die.....so i dont know what it is and i was hoping you could help me

Have you seen how the scutes that shed look like in this forum? Does it look similar to it? Redness and whiteness are something I would be concerned about and you might need to see a good herp vet.

its definately not like the scutes. They were in splotches that were first red, then came off

Then it could be a serious case of shell rot and a herp vet visit is really recommended.
