I really want to adopt. I guess I'll try petfinder in my area. I hope this works.

I know I won't find a russian tortoise around here when I am ready to get one, since I live in NJ, so I will probably take a trip to NY or PA for a repile show. They are having a reptile show this weekend in Hamburg,PA I think, but I have to work. :(

this probably doesnt help but try petco, i walked thru to get minnows and fell in love with some russian tortoiuses when i walked by they chased me...but idk.. they were like 80$

My local pet store always has them. Usually around 30 - 50 depending on size. For some reason the smaller ones are more expensive.
I build acrylic ATBAs.

IMO, most of your online turtle places like this are just awful, some are far worse than the one you mention. They do nothing but make these turtles constantly breed, making the population problems worse. Then when they get a baby that lets say for instance, that has two heads, they take advantage of that and sell it for more money. Most people dont like puppy mills, this is no different.

Yeah, most are and most definitely about the two headed thing, it's simply ridiculous. Supply and Demand. Other than that I don't see a lot of options, sorry.
