She always used to eat pellets and shrimp as a treat when she was younger. I would give her ham and raw hamburg as a treat. One day she just quit eating her pellet food and wouldn't eat. I only feed her 3 times a week or so. I've given her fish but I'm not big on fish b/c I don't want their diseases to affect Brooks. I tried worms before but she had no interest in them either.

I think you should lean her back into pellets. Aquatic plants are great food for RES, but that..and ham alone isnt a good diet.

You can raise a captive turtle without pellets, but it's harder to keep the diet balanced and is more time consuming. I had a recent conversation with a vet who felt that keepers tended to depend too much on pellets, although she admitted pellets were more convenient. A blend of pellets and other more "natural" foods is good.

Well, like I said she does eat other things but no veggies, she just doesn't want them and I try but she just lets them float for days so I end up removing them. I feed her a variety of foods, she loves anchoris and other aquatic plants daily and her shrimp as a treat maybe twice a month if that. She really doesn't like any other kinds of treats. I think that I just have a picky turtle. I have put fish in there but usually I end up feeling sorry for them too and she is just mean to them. She doesn't want to kill them to eat just for fun :) She eats the snails too. But I don't like live creatures b/c I don't want her to get diseases. I don't know. Maybe I'll try the pellets again. Thanks for all of the advice! Just wanted to know if you could see the fat in the pics I posted.
