Yeah i know, because the dark leafy greens is known to have high oxalate levels. But it actually seems like from a research point of view that kale is actually quite low on oxalates, and when you steam it 5-8 min bafore use, you can actually get rid of most of the oxalic acid the veggies have. That kale being high on oxalic acid is a myth.
I do not feed my turtle kale as a staple though. Now and then i steam a small amount and add to his Jello shots, where red leaf lettuce is the dominant ingredient part. Was just curious when i saw the black kale in the garden, and the difference in texture, shape and form from the regular kale, and if anyone knew. Wouldnt feed my turtle something im not sure of
