My daughter was given a turtle and I have no idea how to care for it. So far its attempted to eat but spends most of its time swimming into the tank. I need all the info I can get, help

How big is the turtle? Where did the turtle come from?

I’d say about 3 1/2 inches. Not too sure where they bought the turtle

I'd first make sure there is enough water and that the temperatures are in a good range (75-78F). At 3 1/2", you might be able to tell its gender and plan for a "forever tank". A male will have long claws and tail and adult females will be a bit larger. Your turtle will also need a basking area plus a UVB and a basking lamp. A filter will also be necessary, depending on water volume. The main sections on the site will go over everything in detail.

What have you been trying to feed it? When was the last time it ate?
