Hi! This is my turtle Salami! I'm not sure how old she is because I rescued her from my aunt who wasn't caring for her properly, but I've had her since February. Recently I noticed her scutes have been separating and I know she's probably shedding but why is there such a big gap in her scutes? And why haven't they fallen off yet? Her shell is 2 inches long and also 2 inches wide btw.

Thick seams usually indicated overfeeding and excessively fast growth. There also looks like other growth issues, it’s hard to point out from the picture. Maybe a severe deficiency in the habitat?
