Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

My turtles have been fluttering their claws at eachother. it usually lasts less than a minute but then they’ll go back at it again soon enough. it’s been happening a lot more often now. in the past hour they’ve done this at least 8 times now. im worried that they’ll hurt eachother. Is this some type of mating ritual and i should just let them do their thing? or is this driven by aggression? if so should i have them live in different tanks? i don’t really know much about two turtles living in the same tank. do you guys have any advice? (btw one of them is a girl and the other im not sure but i believe it’s a boy due to its long tail and long claws )

It could be either mating or aggression. Most likely it is aggression and will escalate. How big are they now? Separation is usually the solution.
