Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Ok so I'd probably end up paying more with shipping or a tad less to buy one online and the thing is I dont really know for sure since I cant get ahold of anyone for estimates. Anyway, one of the local pet stores near me said they can get their hands on a 224g 72 x 24 x 30 with the standard black aquaium trim which makes building addon (top of tank) basking spots easy and they said it would run about $1,190 which I assume is without the taxes. Anyway the ease of buying local means all I need to do is get some people and a truck to get it home and put up but I dont know if thats a good deal. LIke I said I know shippings alot and for a tank this size I could probably end up spending over $1,500 or so. Anyway, post your thoughts and Ty ;-)

I'd check craigslist first. Even if you are set on a new tank, there are a lot of new/almost new tanks being sold for way cheap.

That sounds like a decent price. I've seen some "new" 100-150 gallon tanks here sell from $1000-1500, mind you they came with the stand.

I agree with Chris, have a look on craigslist (you might get lucky).
A better bet would be to see if there is any reefing forums in your area. You're more likely to find a tank size from the reefing community.

That's a monster of a tank! Good luck in your search :)

Im checking out alot of places thats for sure I just wanted to see if that sunded like an ok price if I absolutely have to go buy from a store. Good thing about store bought is certain implied warranties among other things.

Edit: Of course its a monster of a tank, from what I understand its hella perfect for one res as a lifer and ok for two as a lifer. But ya I made up my mind on the size hehe

Have you looked at http://www.glasscages.com/ ?

Not just for comparison, but to actually buy from them. They seem to have a good reputation and I'm sure I've seen a few posts from people here that have bought from them or are planning to.

I actually have looked at them and have yet to hear back fro mthem on my quote for shipping, like right now I can get that tank locally for the $1,190 but if I have to spend more to have one shipped it's obvious what I'd end up going with.
