should i steam or boil them? the turtle seems to have a hard time just eating them. it might be because its baby carrots that were in the fridge, so they might be a little hard.

I feed mine baby carrots but i slice them very thin or shred them first.

I use regular-size carrots, but I use a peeler to peel long, thin pieces. They kind of move in the water like worms, and my turtles like them that way. If the slices are thin, there's no need to steam them to soften them up.

My turtle was eating chopped up carrots. Probably the size of i guess 'normal' gravels that are used in pet store's fish tanks.

Lately he hasnt. My turtle spits them right back out.

i gave mine some the other day, but now their mouth is orangeish lol.
