Feeding and Nutrition :: Anorexia or constipation?? hmm

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

Post Posted: Sun Jan 28, 2007 1:21 pm   Anorexia or constipation?? hmm

Charlie is a bout 1 and 3/4 of an inch in length, around 1 or 2 years old..

Well last week I fed my turtles chicken..(cooked)

my other turtle is still eating

but Charlie isn't...not even when I drop in salmon (his favorite!) he only ... took a little bite..

he won't even look at his favorite pellet .. :S

so..
anorexia from stress or constipation?

I responded to your earlier post. In there you also mentioned he's breathing with his mouth open. I'm afraid these are not good signs. Do you know where to find a good herp vet?

Cooked chicken as an occasional treat is ok. Just so it isn't the main staple. Here's a good link on diet:

Hey Zilch,

Did you find a vet to take them to? Spotsmama mentioned in her earlier response that one of your turtles was breathing with his mouth open & that's a symptom of turtle pneumonia. It can only be cured with antibiotics from the vet.
