After searching on this site,i came to the conclusion that i am going to hold out on pellets until my turt decides to eat his veggies.

My question is,what if he doesnt eat the veggies after a week of holding out on his favorite food? I dont want him to starve..

He wont starve, but a growing turt need certain nutrients that can only be found in high quality pellets. You can try cutting back on the pellets, but I wouldn't cut him off completely. Fortunately for me, my guys LOVE veggies and if anything I have to cut back on the romaine, as they get the runs....

He's 2 inches so he's not old.

Im not going to make him starve i said i "dont" want to starve him.

I read here that some people stopped giving pellets until theyre RES took the veggies.

You could try that, maybe wedge the pellets into the lettuce somehow (clip?). Give him romaine everyday, and check for little bites. Most babies gravtate to protien-based foods at first, then as they get older, start taking an interest in a vegetable based diet.

u say he is only 2 inches? Hes still a young buck. He just may not be interested in lettuce yet is all. Still feed him his pellets but leave the lettuce in the tank. When he is ready to eat it he will. My RES didnt touch most veggies for months. He is almost 4 inches now (3 1/2) and still doesnt show any interest in lettuce. Loves carrots tho. But once in a while ill notice some shredded pieces floating around so when he wants it he will eat it.
Baby RES are more carnivorous, adults usually start wit the vegetation.
Lord,
Grant me the serenity to accept the things i cannot change.
The courage to change the things that I can.
And the wisdom to know the difference.

I would stick to the pellets. Leave in some anarchis, but stick to the feeding plan. Also, try a variety of different veggies. The have preferences and their tastes may change...
