If they dont take the veggies right away, dont panic.Keep offering it to them everyday until they eat it.Every morning take out the old piece of lettuce and put in a fresh leaf. You can try the "tough love" method and quit giving them pellets until they finnally eat theyre veggies (if you want).Fruits should be a rare treat only given once a month.

Reptomin foodsticks is a very good quality turtle food. I have been using this food with my turtle for 17 yrs with a great deal of success. She has grown up very healthy & alert with beautiful eye coloring.

Before I found this website, that was my turtle's main food for 16 yrs with an occasional earthworm, catfood, can-o-worms, or some fish/shrimp thrown in for variety. I didn't know I could feed mine veggies because she honestly wouldn't touch them when I tried! So don't worry if they initially won't eat veggies. Continue to throw a lettuce leaf on the top of the tank occasionally & they will eventually be pursuaded to nip at it or eat it. Some people on the board even put in some pond plants like anachris & they said their turtles really like to eat these leaves! And in this case, you can leave the pond plants in with the turtles & you don't have to worry about scooping out anything that isn't eaten. :)

You won't need any special vitamin supplements, except for some cuttlebone or a calcium block ("water neutralizer") thrown in the water for them to nip at.

You could alternate Reptomin with some of the other reputable brands of pellets to give your turtle some nutrtients that aren't found in Reptomin. Regular Reptomin is also rather high in protein, and you could balance this out with some other brands that are lower in protein (this would be especially good for the adults).
