my turtle paco is ignoring lettuce... is there something wrong? :?:

no, he's still very young. Let him get used to his surroundings. Don't handle him and he'll eat it eventually. Mine were a few months old before they'd eat any veggies.

it took a couple of weeks for mine as well. Finally I soaked th lettuce in tuna juice. It worked like a charm

I may have to try that, cause it's been a little over a week and Zeke still doesn't want his Romaine. He likes shredding it into bite size pieces and spitting it out into his tank but doesn't want to eat it yet. How long did you soak it for?

Just a quick dip in the juice. If he is shredding it then it is possible that he is eating it. RES are very messy eaters. I used the juice from tuna in water. I avoided tuna in oil cuz I did not want to leave a film on the water. As I am sure you have read...tough love does work. I offered only the lettuce and they ate it. Now they have lettuce in the tank all the time. We are now trying carrots. Good Luck

Update on Zeke....he now is devouring the lettuce! :-) I am SOOOO happy! So far the only thing he doesn't like...has trouble with is the matchstick carrots I bought....so am going to go back to carrot shreds for him which he loved.
