Hi all,
I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. Meet my new hatchling 20/20. He is a Rio Grande RES. A couple days old when I got him 3 weeks ago.

Piggley and I say Hi ! Nice patterns 20/20.
Wouldn't it be great if at 30 years old will still have those shining patterns.

Actually, he (assuming it’s a he, due to the temp of incubation) will have similar patterns as an adult due to being a Rio Grande RES. My other Rio Toku is now 11 years old and he still holds his patterns. He has yellow lines on his greenish light carapace with a orange yellowish plastron with defined black marks. You can see his pics on the link in my signature. He hatched in spring of 2009. Toku was bought at a reptile store, I got 20/20 from a breeder.

Wow, he looks amazing! What does "20/20" signify?

I only had one Rio Grande little over 30 years old and my luck it went melanistic . That's before Hurricane Katrina took her. Your older Rio is only 11 may keep all markings... hope so they are good looking markings.

Steve; in lite of all that is going on we decided 20/20 is sufficient. As in, hindsight is 20/20 and it’s the year he hatched.
Yes litefoot, I do hope both of them do. And thanks, Toku is a awesome family member.
