Hi, i'm new here I have been reading others stories on here since my nephew got his baby res turtles early last month. Their names are Buddy (
) and Pearl
(
). I worry about them because we haven't got like the heater and such for them. Since my sister who did not know they need all these things and the person who sold her them didnt even tell her this and gave her the wrong pellets for them. Since I met them I got instantly attached and I worry. Because of this site and talking to friends with turtles I got the correct food for them (Pro Reptomin) even tho sadly their shells have pyramided a bit. I live in a tropical country where there is constant sun and where they are located they get shade and also alot of sun. Their water gets warm but not dangerously warm. I have seen then basking alot, Buddy even stretches his legs out to soak up all that sun xD. But I'm still worried about their shells and health. I have noticed that the back of the shell, near their tails are soft. I have smelled them they don't give me signs of shell rot but it''s still soft to me compared to the rest of the shell. I have listened to them and I don't hear any wheezing or heavy breathing. They eat fine and swim very quickly and are very active. They still aren't use to us since when they see us they run away but with food they don't. I'll post pictures of them.
(we will be getting their stuff soon as we ordered them.)
