I recently got this Red Eared Slider and after doing some research I noticed that maybe his shell is pyramiding. When he basks I also notice that his shell is quite dry and that some parts of it can almost be peeled off. Anyone have advice/insight?

There is some pyramiding but the main issue looks like overfeeding/fast growth.

Should I start feeding him once/twice every 3 days?
