I came across an old post on here about this but figured I'd bring it up again. Now that summer is here we do a lot of gardening at our house, We compost, makes teas and try to use a lot of organic solutions. I thought about using tank waste and did a little research to see if it would be safe.
The only concern is salmonella from the waste. I see dumping water onto fresh preduce that will be eaten raw as being the only concern, but for flowers or other plants should be fine.
So next I tried to see how to safely use the waste. It seems that if you were to add it to your compost or a manure tea it would be safe to use once it has heated up 140-160 degrees f should kill most harmful pathogens.
Anyone else use their water for gardening?
