Hey guys, I'm looking for a way to make a ledge for my tank. I have one now from the pet store but it doesn't support my turtle's weight so I was thinking I'd be better off making one myself. Any suggestions on materials/methods?

How big is the tank and long of a piece do you need? Cork bark is perfect for most tanks.

egg crate diffuser grids are another popular choice if you don't mind the plastic unnatural look. Home depot carries them for around 10-12 bucks for a 2x4' sheet. you can cut to size. people usually use it with zip ties and pvc pipes to create a platform
