So Kame, my sisters turtle had died, and all I want yo know now, is what might be some possible causes of death, since we don't have money for a necropsy. She died with he eyes and mouth open it seems, and her legs in a swimming position, she was in the water and was not upside down, the heater, filter, and uvb were OK, as were the other 2 way smaller turtles, she still ate normally. This is all. She was approximately 30 years old, and we only had her for 2 years, recently in December we took her to the vet to take care of her aural infection, so that might have something to do with her death

Very sorry for your loss. Unless there was something obvious like a drowning, it's hard to know with an older, seemingly healthy turtle. If that infection healed in a reasonable amount of time, I don't think it was related. It's possible it was just her time, she had a long life compared to many other turtles.

Oh wow! I am sorry to hear about Kame's death. Sounds like she got lots of love during the time she was with you.

thank you very much, im sorry that i didnt respong at all. She was burried in a rock area in Lake Michigan, hopefully where she isn't eaten by something, or the waves wash her away. And yeah, it was sad, made me cry also. But now I want to take care of the 2 smaller turtles that were Kames tankmates.
