It should come with pads. Carbon and bio media are always separate. As for instructions, it's pretty much standard to get a poorly translated version.

I'd still get the SunSun. These are not the same filters w and w/o media. Carbon is cheap, you should be buying bulk anyway. If you have bio media already, you can reuse it. Bio rings are better than bio balls for canisters. I am curious about the separated pump and filter though.

I'll have to look at other sun sun filters cause that's what I was thinking too .. lol unless it's bottom mounted like the cfs and the fx5 .. and no I don't have any media .. was just using the micron cartridge and the blue pads for my magnum .. that's why my tank ends up gross so fast xD but I'll have to do a little more research .

It says it's an inline pump it requires no self priming cause the pump sits in the tank . I mean that would be helpful cause once the water hits the pump it'll siphon but I'm wondering if there's a pump in the filter to for the return or ?

There was another filter that had that outside pump, I think it was the API Nexx Filter. It was pretty much slammed. And outside pump could be a problem with an aggressive turtle. A filter rated to 150-200 gallon should be fine.

Neither of them are aggressive and they aren't tank re decorators lol like I said I was looking at the cascade 1500 too I just need something that's not gonna break the bank xD I'm saving pennies for an fx6 aha . But my mom would be the one buying me a filter so I don't wanna kill her pocket so any filters that are good for 55 gallons of turtle water just lemme know lol .

Don't forget the other marineland and fluvals are also half off. They might be a bit overpriced but they are pretty attractive at what is their best sell price.
