General Care Discussion :: Basking too much?

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

I just got my RES less than a week ago. The first couple nights she would not get on her dock. She just stayed in the water. Now she will not get off her dock and into the water. She has been sleeping a lot but she is alert if I tap on the tank. She seems okay otherwise. She has been eating but I had to put her into the water to get her to eat. Is this normal?

The water temp is 78 and I believe the basking temp is around 90

What's the setup like? Does she stay up there when the lights are off?

She does. If I put her in the water she will swim for a few but then she gets back on her dock. She did sleep in the water again one night but now she is back to her dock. I just did a partial water change to see if that would help any. When I bought her she wasn't in the water like the other turtles, she was out basking.

At anytime, does she go back into the water herself? Can you post a picture of what the setup looks like?
