Could be a calcified egg stuck or impaction from the small rocks/gravel.

It looks normal to me but I'd also remove the gravel.

Okay thank you so much! It sucks because I just bought those stones thinking they would be big enough! I'll try and remove them and get new ones as soon as possible. What kind of stones do you recommend? And where do I get them?

River rock is nice and you don't need much, but consider keeping things bare so you can look for any of the gravel when its pooped out.

River rock? Lots of places, they are often used with floral arrangements or decorations. They're basically larger and smooth.
