Hi, today I have notice a white residue on the bottom of my turtles shell. The area is not soft, does not smell but it sort of flaked off in a powdery substance. I have attached a picture of the area below. A little background story about her is she came from a very poor environment when we adopted her. She had no basking are for the first 8 years of her life. Since we have taken her into our home we noticed she had some serious shell problems. Since then we have taken her to a vet and she has been given a clean bill of health until I noticed her shell today. Any idea what it can be? Im praying it isn't shell rot but I have given her a wash in betadine and put a good quality antibiotic cream on the area. This is a special cream for her shell infection our vet gave use, SSD Cream 1%. The previous shell infection was on the top of her shell and has since healed.

Hard to tell from the pic, any chance you can post a larger one? SSD Cream is great for fungus, which this might be.

Mostly looks like fungus... there could have been a few layers of infected scutes.
