I have a 60 gallon tall tank with 2 external filters one is a marinesland magnum 350 filter and a marineland magniflow 360 filter both do 100 gallon tank I have a preset 78 degree heater in it also but I'm losing like 3 5 gallons of water every two to three days idk what it could be not losing water from filters or around the tank

That's a lot... maybe twice as fast as normal. What's the air temperature? Where are you located?

I understood it as 3 - 5 gallons

It's still a lot, is there a lot of aeration? Are the lights over the water?

Pretty much the light are screen that's clipped to the tank could that be the reason?

It really shouldn't. Has it always been like that?

When my A/C is running, I lose a similar amount.

I have a 55 gallon, with another 55 gallon as a refugium. The refugium has glass tops and likely loses little to evaporation. The main tank has glass on half and is open, with an ATBA on the other half. There's also an overflow that is open. The heat lamp is above the ATBA.

I bet I have less exposed water for evaporation than you, but my tank is in the basement, meaning when the air is on, there is a big difference between air temp and water temp.

I see the least evaporation when the house is open, and the most when the air is on. Heat in the winter means more than when the windows are open.

Is your air on?
