I'm new to the forum. I have three NA Box Turtles and one Yellow Bellied Slider. I've had the box turtles for 14 years and the slider for about 8 years. They're sweet animals and I do all I can to take care of them.

Hemi, Linus and Tatum are the boxies. Hemi is a boy, the other two are girls. Fufu is the yellow bellied slider.

Thank you! Yes, she acts like a box turtle a lot of the time. She is a big squeaky wheel that's quite demanding. And Hemi spends a lot of time in the water.

Very nice group, those boxies look like a lot of fun! I don't have experience with them, but does it look like Hemi's beak is overgrown?

Me Too Steve, I may reconsider a box turtle sometime down the road. Instead of two aquatics, it may be easier to come up with an enviroment for the box turtle then two huge tanks for two huge turtles who don't like each other anymore..

Do you keep all the box turtles separate as well??

Yes, the beak is overgrown. It's not easy to get them the UV they need. They have UV lamps but they don't like basking much. they like hiding under things in dark places where they feel secure. I get them outside whenever I can. I built a beak trimmer but they hate it of course. no easy solution here.

I keep the box turtles separate. If I don't they'll make more box turtles. I use to keep the girls together. But sometimes one will get the idea to bother and climb on the other. Once they get an idea in their head it becomes concrete. So I let the girls play together for a little while and they can bother each other for a time and then they can go back to their personal places.

Look at the center, then drift your eyes to the right and you'll see two nostrils that belong to a turtle who is very pleased with herself.
