Hi,

As can be seen from the attached image, my terrapin's shell has turned white increasingly these days. I'm not sure if its a fungal infection or just general shedding. Although turning white, it doesn't smell, isn't soft.

I change its water everday.the tank doesnt have UV light equipment, but there is a basking area and I put the tank by the window.

I feed it a mix of pellets and raw fish, shrimp.

ANY ADVICE?

It's fungus. Also, don't keep a tank by the window, it'll have large temperature swings.

I'm not sure if its fungus! I tried attacking the issue using methods online for fungal infection on terrapin shells. I've

1) Bathed it with salt and brushed its shell with a soft toothbrush
2) Got it out for basking under natural sunlight. I haven't got a basking lamp yet and right now, it keeps hiding underwater under a little bridge/toy rock thing I got for the tank. So occasionally, I get it out of the tank , into a dry tank (see pic) to bask under natural sunlight near the window (not too near).

And it seems to be getting whiter!! (see pic)

Can you email me the full-size photo or post it somewhere? Many treatments for shell fungus don't work, and severe cases, like show above, you will have to wait for a shed to see any improvement. However, without treatment, it will just comeback and start over again.

Hi, may I have your email?

Alternatively, I have uploaded some pictures here. There seems to be some peeling off at his right-side of the shell. I'm not sure about it though.
