This video is wonderful. I've never thought of putting George in the sink. I think she would freak out, and what if there are chemicals in the cleaning agents I use that would not agree with her?

When I bring my RES in after being outside, they go into a stainless sink for a few minutes to soak (water temp is same temp as tank water and they get a treat). I think in most cases, it should be fine though I wouldn't use it right after using chemicals to clean it.
