I have a RES and cichilds together and never had issues with them together but Ive had issues with cichilds fighting and dominating eachother. After about 6 Cichlids 2 have survived and they now leave eachother alone for the most part. Its seems like random luck sometimes with the aggressive fish.

I have a Chinese algae eater in the tank with my turtle. Penny has never really shown much interest in him. She swam up and looked at him once and that was it. Albert was quite small when we got him but has grown quite a bit already. He's probably too big for Penny to try and eat now. I only got one because I read that they are too aggressive and territorial. I figure at some point Albert is going to get too big and I'll need to get rid of him.
