Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

It's sunny and warm now, and I am starting to take Prometheus outside. Usually I bring him to a large open space with a few trees and set him on the grass. I sit around with him and keep an eye on him for a few hours. Afterwards I put him back in the tank.

Is this wrong to do? I don't think Prometheus likes it very much. He stays in his shell for a little while and walks around a bit, but when I put him back in his tank he goes insane for a second or two swimming as fast as he can.

What does the temperature have to be for him to be out there? I usually take him out when it's 72-75.

You might try one of those plastic kiddie pools that they have at walmart. As for the other, it's just a new environment that he isn't used to. Be sure to watch carefully that he doesn't try to eat anything, because he could choke. Also, you don't want to lose him.
