Feeding and Nutrition :: Freezing dandelion leaves

Is it possible to freeze dandelion leaves for a later use? I need to know so that if I can stock pile now I'm going to before the farmers go and spray the fields and before we mulch everything.

I'm not sure how dandelion leaves would hold up once frozen and then thawed. In comparison, I used to freeze the leaves from my mint plant in the herb garden so I could use them in hot tea later. When they were thawed they were just mush. It was fine because all I needed them for was tea, but if dandelion leaves thaw the same way they wouldn't be good for trying to eat.

I think if you froze them they'd turn black and limp.

I'd think they'd be no different than spinach. I'd not really cook them just sort of blanch them and then freeze them... I mean it seems like it should work. But then again you can't freeze lettuce

I picked a handful and put them in the freezer. I'll leave them in there for a week and see what they do and let everyone know. Hopefully the freeze!
