Feeding and Nutrition :: 8 year old RES diet

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

I was wondering how often and how much food I should give her. Also hat ratio of vegetable vs pellets. I just give in too much to her begin for food and want to create a strict eating schedule to keep her healthy. I always have lettuce around for her and have two different kinds of pellets: Mazuri and also some aquatic turtle food I bought at my local pet store called "Pretty Pets Aquatic turtle food" (Here's a link for that food http://www.petmountain.com/product/aqua ... &utm_term={keyword}&gclid=COfIrqjojbQCFYp_QgodclsAiw )

If anybody could tell me the exact amount of pellets I should feed her, how many vegetables and when it would be a great help. Maybe post it in a daily shedule format like the ones I've seen around here (S-M-T-W-TH-F-S). I would use the information already posted around the forum but most of it is for younger turtles.

I give various greens everyday, the stable is Red leaf and Green Leaf lettuce. I give enough pellets to fit in the head if it were hollow, once every other day. I use Reptomin and Omega-One pellets. I give a small carrot once every month. My turtle is a 3 yr. old male, he is an adult like yours, our feedings would be related.

Example;

Sunday - veggies and 8 pellets (number varies due to the different size in the two types of pellets)
Monday - veggies
Tuesday - veggies and 8 pellets
Wednesday - veggies
Thursday - veggies and 8 pellets
Friday - veggies
Saturday - veggies and 8 pellets
Sunday - veggies and a small carrot ( the only one for this month)
Monday - veggies and 8 pellets
And on and on, the schedule just keeps on going.

Thank you for your reply, it is very helpful :D I was doing some reading and in some places it says that adult RES should not be fed every day. Is this true? It seems like not feeding her everyday would be too much to handle for her...she begs a lot :? Does anyone have any comments on this?

Yeah, they are talking about the pellets. Offer veggies everyday so she can graze on them. I offer aquatic plants every so often, as well. It is key to have a varied diet, this will distribute all the vitamins and minerals for your turtle.

I basically follow a regime of 2 days veg-1 day pellets, with no more than 2 pellet days/week for my nearly 5.5 inch, 25 year old RES. Pellet day would be wheatgerm pellets (about 3 pinches), 6 Hikari pellets (2 of each colour), 3 Sera Raffy Vital (a vegetarian pellet from Germany) coated with calcium and either 2 Reptomin or shrimps. Veg would be a handful of lettuce.
