Hi sorry to bother you all... I really dont know where else to ask some help... I just had my first pet turtle, so I totally need your help on this.

My turtle is about 3inches, last night when I left it in the aquarium she is still swimming and eating the food Im giving her as usual... but this morning when I checked her out.. Her two legs were overly extended ( just like when they were basking) and she no longer knows how to swim.. SHe cannot move her legs and she's struggling in the water... She floats all the time... SHe's not eating too...WHats wrong with her? Need urgent help pls... :'(

Hi, could your turtle have gotten stuck in something, filter intake for example? are her legs swollen? Do you see any wounds? Also, if she's not able to swim I would either place her in a separate container or lower the volume on water so she won't drown. Do you have any pictures?

Also is she not moving at all. Turtles will extend their legs like that and just float around sometimes to relax. If you take her out does she squirm or move her legs.

Is it possible someone mishandled her? Or she ate something that she wasn't supposed to? I would look into a vet right now, the symptoms sound very serious.

I agree with Steve (and who wouldn't he is the RES God), I'd see a Herp Vet ASAP.

My red eared slider just got a white spot on his head! It wasnt there before and I cant figure out how it got to look so bad so quickly. Im really worried, it looks terrible. If anyone could tell me what it is and what I can do to help him I would REALLY apreciate it! :( http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t40 ... G_5837.jpg

what substrate did you use? is it possible that she might have eaten something? take your turt to the vet ASAP.

This is a situation where you should consider a vet visit.
