Let me tell you guys and gals this was no easy task! He is so alert when basking there is no chance getting anywhere in site of his view. I have to hold the camera around the door frame while staying on the other side of the wall out of the doorway. I had to do four shots to get the right one lol, wish I could get a better camera.

There is no chance of a close up on the branch, which is what I really want!

Maybe you need to setup a camera with a long timer or a remote

Great pic!!! I keep trying to catch my little babies basking, but like u said, they dart back into the water!!! maybe one day... lol good job!

i love to watch my little turtle bask! He comes completely out of his shell, stretches out his legs, and raises his head toward the light and it's so cute. I guess I've had better luck than you have with this! one day you'll be able to get a close up
