Hi, I'm a very new turtle owner. Just got mine a week ago, and he/she hasn't eaten anything yet. I've tried pellets, pellets soaked in tuna water, dried shrim flakes, and actual tuna with no luck. The water temp is anywhere from 75-78 degrees, and I also have a UVB heat/basking light for him/her as well. All he/she does is lay in one general location (hardly moves around at all) and sleeps, or just never opens his/her eyes. I dont think theres anything wrong with his/her eyes from what I can see, no swelling or anything. I;m very concerened and not sure what to do from here.

If you have a vet nearby, I suggest heading over there. My Sheldon did not eat the first week I brought him home but he moved around and did not lay around. Tuna should have made him/her jump. There may be an issue that only the vet can diagnose. Did you get him/her from a pet store?

How big/old is the turtle? Do you have a water heater? Where did you get he/she from?
