He's very cute! Separation is definitely required, ASAP.

My neighbor now has the little baby. She wanted him so bad & I promised if all the required equipment for a turtle habitat was available to the baby I would give him to them.

He's currently living in a 45 gallon with 2 plecos & an internal filter. The habitat & system looks good enough so the little guy is no longer mine.

I have told them to be sure to feed him more than just reptomin pellets & referred them to this site for reference on his needs.

I feel good & hopeful he'll be happy w/them. Plus, I still get to check on him everday!

Thats really nice basking log!

Filters won't be able to get rid of algae. If it's possible you'll have to limit the amount of light hitting the water.

I have the uv steriler in my aquatop. I don't believe everything I hear so Im not betting on it, but still hoping.

Yes, I have cut the lighting down.

Thanks for the compliment on the basking log. Found it a few months back along a big lake. I did "treat" it prior to adding to the habitat by pouring many, many many boiling pots of water over it & allowing it to soak in a big rubber bin. Very time consuming process but worth it in the end. Looks very natural & my fish seem to like it too. Gives them some shade from the light above. Thinking about adding plants, maybe...
