I just got some baby painted turtles, they came out of the egg like two days ago and i was wondering what to try to feed them. and when to start. And how long they can go without trying food before i should start to worry.

Thanks

Try in about a week. As for feeding you can start with whatever turtle pellets you want. Id try something thats smaller that can be broken even smaller for the little turtles like reptomin. Also i like to ad aquatic plants from the petstores too as they can nibble on them when they want. After 2 weeks of no eating try live prey to get them to eat as they should of started to ate by now that when you start watching for anything wrong.

Should i put them a separate container to get them to eat? What for live prey should i try if they do not eat the pellets, I did try feeding them today, they just swim against the edge of the bowl and ignore the pellets.

I'd leave them in the main tank when you're trying to get them to eat. Moving them around too much might be stressful.
