What do you guys think about Gourmet Aquatic Turtle Food by Zoo Med?

Any input on why it has Cranberries?

I haven't tried it but seems OK. It looks a little trendy, so that might explain the cranberries. There's actually a lot in there, it might also be some filler.

Does this mean it's ok to feed RES fresh and/or dried Cranberries?

What benefits do RES have by eating Cranberries?

What disadvantages?

Raw cranberries have more phosphorus than calcium, so it might be OK as a rare treat.

I just tried it today. This thing has a lot of stuff a RES would love to eat. Shrimp/Crickets/Meal Worms/Snail and snail shells.

But not so much luck with the cranberry...My Yoshi ate the first one because it smelled like shrimp.

And she left the 2nd cranberry because it sat in the water for a few minutes and washed the shrimp odor off.

Although it has pellets...it does seem more like a treat mix.

Update.

My turtle stop eating the pellets because of the treats it comes with. Once she eats a couple of meal worms or river shrimp, she will just ignore the pellets.

So for now, I am hand picking the pellets and feeding my turtle the pellets only. And I give the meal worms, river shrimp, cranberries on her off days.

I do not think I will buy this product again because my turtle will not eat the entire mix at the same time.

Next time I will try Omega One Adult Turtle Sticks and/or JurassiDiet™ Aquatic Turtle Food

Good idea. Just rotate between pellets. I'm planning on adding a wheat germ based pellet to help with shedding (if your RES is having an issue with that).

I DREAD giving Penelope treats, 'cuz I know she will snub all food other than the the treat
Recall, I had her living off of tuna (not good) she finally ate her pellets (sort of good) and finally started chomping down her greens (really good)
So, yeah, my vote would be ditch the designer food and give her the good stuff...she won't miss treats if she doesn't have them

had mine for almost a week, the baby turtle wouldn't eat the calcium food pellets until recently she would spit them out and would always eat the dried shrimp, dried worms.

before it started eating a pellet I put a calcium bone and it still wouldn't eat. So I'll probably have to take that out soon.

Try the tiny ball pellets.. For hatchlings. Mine preferred the red colored only for the first few feedings, but now eats both the green and the red. I only give one or two pieces of shrimp per week. Only one day a week do I give the shrimp. Right now, I am pretty much feeding 90% pellets with an occasional shrimp or tiny piece of tuna thrown in. Still trying to get him to eat lettuce, but no luck as of yet.
