So nasty! Fortunately I had a cold and couldn't smell a thing.
And throughout all the information I've read I think your conclusion is right Penelope: there will always be differing opinions and no one way is necessarily the right way. It does sound like I may be over feeding on the greens just a bit, and I should aim for a greater variety. Since I'm still a new turtle owner, I guess I was just looking for a one answer fits all turtles type of solution that doesn't really exist. Charlie is active, responsive, and has a great appetite, so I'm happy with how things are going so far.
The next challenge is I leave for vacation tomorrow, and I'm making my final preparations today. Lamps are set to a timer, automatic feeder is set up (hope it works as advertised), water change will be done later today. I just need to set up a schedule for someone to top off the water once or twice while I'm gone, and possibly buy a new heater. As of yesterday it decided that it wanted to maintain a water temp of 75 degrees, instead of 78!
I did puchase an eheim jäger on amazon 2 weeks ago, but the box looked like it had been trampled so I didn't want to risk using a damaged product, given its purpose. I guess it's off to the pet store for me.
