Equipment Review and Discussion :: Oasis Turtle Ramp

Various accessories and equipment discussed here.

I bought the Oasis Turtle Ramp for Sheldon. My main reason was that I am sick of re-sticking his Zoo Med dock back to the glass, his favorite thing in the world is un-sticking suction cups. So far he seems to love his new basking area, he likes to sleep on the submerged ramp area. The absolute best part in my opinion is that it allows light through! I really like the sleek design. It's not as natural looking, but it's also not as noticeable. I am not really sure why they added the extra higher deck area... I guess if Sheldon feels like working on his diving skills it will come in handy?

I have the Zoo Med dock now and I really liked it, but apparently Spencer likes it more than I do, because he has started to eat it. I ordered the Oasis Turtle Ramp yesterday. Guess I can't really complain to much, because the Zoo Med dock has lasted several months.

Pretty common for turtles to try and eat those docks, silly turtles!

I think these docks are much better than the Zoo Med ones too. I'm sure he'll want to try out the higher/warmer spot soon :)

Sheldon's basking has increased dramatically with this new platform! I can tell he appreciates the different levels, moving around from one level to the other to adjust his temp. He even stays on there while I feed the fish and stuff, he loves it! I am so happy I finally got rid of that silly floating dock :)

Very nice to hear. How much closer is he to the heat?

The upper ramp is 6 inches from the light, though the heat lamp isn't directly above him when he's on that section on the dock.

I found my Spencer on the tip top of the dock yesterday when I got home from work and he was stretched all out soaking up some rays. He stayed up there for several hours after I got home. First time I've seen him go to the top and stay there. But I also just recently lowered the lights down to about 5 inches or so above the ramp.

Hey guys sorry to sidetrack this thread but I was wondering if there was a way to make this dock hold better. I have the large one for leo and he keeps weighing it down. I have already replaced the suction cups several times as they keep loosing grip. Any ideas would be helpful cause he does love this dock.

I've heard people using magnets for it... like the ones make to wipe algae from behind the glass.
