Did you separate them permanently or just at feeding time? If just at feeding time the one that's not eating may be feeling intimidated by the other one even if he's not there. The same goes for permanent separation. It may take him a while to realize the other one is not there to intimidate him. Sounds like he may be getting bullied. Even if you don't see it. Animals have their ways, just like kids bullying each other in the classroom and the teachers don't see it.

Ok well i got some Romaine lettuce and stuff in there when i'm not feeding them, and i cut it up a little w/ scissors and they LOVE that stuff lol, now should i leave it in there or take it out? Will it over feed them if i just leave it in there and feed them their 6 pellets a day each?

It's up to you to determine a balance. They should be able to eat it all in a few minutes and you don't want to give them too much.

As long as you don't hurt them or put something dirty in their tank. I always rinse everything off before I put something in the tank. Including my hands. Just make sure to wash. Also make sure they don't bite a piece of plastic off. Unlikely but ya know... Have fun!

Yeah I had to get my equipment step by step. Make sure you get a good filter. Rena Filstar is great. I use a Rena XP3 on my 60 gallons. It's great. Though you will still need to scoop out pieces. I just got this thing called a gravel vacuum. Haven't had the chance to use it just yet though.
