Both are spot lights, which offer a more concentrated area of heat. The tight beam seems to be an even stronger one. I would skip these and look at other flood lights. Is it always warm in Singapore? You might only need an incandescent light, though you still need a UVB source.

Are incandescent bulbs just ordinary light bulbs that have a yellow glow? And do they emit uva?
As for uvb, i'm currently using arcadia brand 5% uvb tube.
Planning on buying a zoomed repi sun 5.0 from petco online.btw they mentioned on the web that shipping is free, does that imply to ever item, or only certain ones? I'm not sure as i usually get my turtle stuff from ebay, till u showed me that petco link :P
Yea pretty much singapore is usually always warm, and sometimes even hot :D
Oh yeah and exo terra is the only brand avaliable here in singapore and they only have uva bulbs here in singapore, no uvb ones :( Always have to buy my bulbs from ebay :|

Yes... they offer UVA and heat. There are usually conditions with free shipping... minimum price, quantity, limited time... the site should have that info for you.

Also, express caution when buying UVB bulbs ebay... you can't always tell if one has been used.

Hi steve, i bought a 60w incandescent bulb from my local hardware shop, its pretty good and all, but theres just one problem, its really bright, will this hurt the turtles eyes? And by bright i mean for me, or are turtles ok with it?

Should be OK, does the turtle stare into it?

Erm i'm not really sure about that, i've nvr seen Drake basking before.but if he does stare, does it cause them to turn blind?

They would move away from the heat if it made them uncomfortable, which is why it's good to have a larger basking area - so they can move around a bit. An incandescent light should not produce any harmful rays.

You did send the pics and I replied a few hour ago.

Hi

I hope you don't mind me using your thread to ask a question, but I didn't want to start another one about heat lamps!

I am using a Basking Spot Light by Zoo Med (60w) this seems to get the right temp for my two res. The question I want to know is what do i do in the summer? I live in Cyprus and the temp can get really hot here, it can easily get to 30c plus indoors, should I stop using the basking light in the summer? I have a EXO TERRA REPTI GLO 5.0 light arriving soon, so would I just need to use that one during the hot months?

Any help would be great!

You can use a temperature controller to turn the heat lamp on and off if you need to.
