i was wondering if its ok that my 2 5-6 month old res are eating vegetables because ive been tossing in some dandalions that are like the one showed below and with in 3days its completly gone and ive seen them eat all of it b4

ps that dandalion is about 1ft and a half long

its safe to feed a RES vegetables at any age. its suggested to introduce it when they r young so they r less likely to reject it in adulthood.
65 Gallon
-1 RES (Myrtle)
-1 Pleco (unnamed)

29 Gallon Planted Tank

Greens are good for any age turtle. mine LOVE collard Greens and my Yellow Belly Slider goes crazy for Mango's. Younger Res like Meat more then Veggies and as they grow older they switch to more of a Veggie eater then anything else. Make sure to pick foods you would like them to like at a young age. once stuck on one particular food, its hard to get them off of it.

ok cuz like the week i got them i threw in lettece and they took small bits of it but didnt eat it all... then i put a water plant in and they tore it up so ive been throwing in dandelions but i was just wondering if its bad if they eat it for to long since theve been eating it like since they where 3months old

Nahh the more veggies the better. I would suggest going to a store tho and buying some "safe" veggies if your picking the dandelions from your garden or w/e...never know what would be on them...

i do by them from local plant store i rarely get them from yard (when i do i make sure theres no bugs and i dont use pestasides or anything)
