I put a minnow in my tank. I though the turtles wouldent eat it. My friends turtle let it swim around. But I put it in and the minnow goes up to the turtle and is acting though when SNAP! the minnow was litterlely bitten in half.

And also Are minnows good for them?

The rosey reds i put in Sylars tank are also called "minnows" by all accounts they are ok for the turtles to have. But my Sylar can never catch them!

Turtles are funny. It's like they know what you don't want them to do. If you want them to eat the fish, they won't. If you don't want them to, they will!

About 2 or 3 months ago I bought a bunch of minnows for my turtle to eat. I still have all of them. A couple of days ago I finally cracked and bought a plecostomus because Sgt. obviously wasn't interested in fish. She ate it immediately.

Rosie red minnows are good for them but only as an occasional treat. Too much protein is bad.

I meant bait minnows though. Are those okay?

As an occasional snack, yes. As a staple to the diet, no.
