go to the top of the page and click on Profile. At the bottom of that page there is a spot to put your avatar (that lil pic on the left of your posts) you can choose one from your computer or copy a link to your photo in the space provided. :)

the photo actually has to be online some where.. you can't just attach it or upload it.

it has to be a link to a jpeg. or gif.. and must be 80x80 pixels.. or at least 80 wide.

Adam, it is 80X80 and IS a .jpg file. Any ideas?

does it have the .JPG extension? also, some of those community hosting places disable linking to other sites...

Yes, it is called avatar2.jpg could be a problem with linking but the site actually lists the URL below the picture so you can link to it so I don't think they would block what they allow you to do. I am stumped here..

i see. they way they are displaying the file is not in a standard protocol, and is preventing you from being able to use it. if they don't give you a URL that ends in JPG or GIF, then this site and browsers might not realize its an image. if you can't place the image somewhere else PM me.

Is there a way to turn on automatic resizing for avatars on this type of board? I know I use normal snap shots on other boards and they automatically resize it to the correct size.

:D Finally figured out the picture thing. photobucket.com is very easy to use. You just have to make sure you adjust your picture to proper size or its REALLY big on the screen :oops: Hey LOT7290 - where is your picture?
