Hey everyone! My name is Lori and I have a slider about a year old...his name is Spike (a very common name I have found!) He likes to play "peek-a-boo." If I put something (my finger, a toy, my nose) against the glass of his tank, he comes over and puts his front feet over his eyes and they sort of vibrate......very cute. Does anyone else's turtle do this? My only explanation is that he is doing some mating thing? Not sure....anyway, this is an awesome site (its great to know that Spike is pretty normal in turtle terms....) Talk to ya soon!

My two turtles do that to each other, I have been trying to get it on a clip but they stop as soon as they see me :?

Anyway, welcome to the board :D

If your turtle isn't sexually mature, the vibrating is more likely a show of dominance toward the object in question. (He telling the "intruder" who's boss.)
