ok, so ive had my 4 inch res for about 3 weeks now and i have never seen him poop until yesterday. i always thought maybe the little brown stuff at the bottom that collects was poop. nope. when i was changing his water yesterday i put him in a seperate container and he pooped. not like anything ive ever seen in his tank before. i am pretty positive thats the first time he pooped in 3 weeks. could he be constipated or something?

Yes he could be constipated
Was he alway kicking at his rear end with his legs

If not then

It cud be that your filter picked it up

He could have ate it before you saw (yes they eat poop... eww)

Or if you have feeder fish then they could be cleaning it up

If your tank is free of gravel then i'd say he's eating it..

I"d say he's eating it before you get to see it. :)
