My RES is only about 2.5 inches and i just recently got him (im actually not sure of the sex yet)

I just got him into a 10 gallon aquarium where he has plenty of room to swim and play. Before he used to eat a pellet every other day, which is how i was initially instructed to feed him, but lately he has been eating a pellet everyday.

As soon as i drop it into the area where i always place his food, he devours it. If i do not feed him that day then he goes down to the area and almost begs me to feed him. I tried carrots but he didnt go for that at all. He went for the green leaf lettuce but only after I didnt give him a pellet.

So my question is, how much should i feed him and how often?

for little guys like yours once a day or once every other day is good. How much pellets depend on the size of your turtle's head. Imagine the turtle's head ( not including the neck) hollow and try to see how much pellets would fit in it. My turtle's also 2 inches and I give her two pellets, sometimes three pellets every other day.

Hope this helps,

Kevin
