Multiple canister set up

It’s me again. So I have another question. When adding a second canister do you connect them together like a daisy chain or do they function independently on their own? While cruising OfferUp site I found a secondary filter for $40 brand new. It is an Eheim Classic 2215 (350). Not sure how people add a second canister to tank?

Do I put the second outlet spray bar on opposite end of current spray bar? Same side?

Intake pipe same side of current intake pipe or opposite sides?

Currently I have this setup:
50 gallon tank filled to top
Above tank basking area
Eheim Classic 2217 (600) intake on right corner and spray bar on left side
Eheim prefilter
Eheim 150 watt heater
Using the media that came with filter and I added carbon and Purigen
Sand substrate with wood and large pebbles
Zoo Med dual dome for basking and UVB/UVA

Thank you in advance for any help with this.

You should not daisy chain them. A malfunction or disruption on either one could cause a catastrophic failure (and a lot of flooding). The second filter should be placed at the opposite end. Some people load up on different media for one filter... so let's say one filter has all your mechanical media, and the other one loaded with bio media.

So the spray bar on the would be on the opposite end of the current spray bar correct? Same with the intake pipe.

If you choose to use one but it could be quite noisy in a small tank and there would be a lot of water evaporation.
