FINALLY Got my FX6

Alright, so I didn't want to hijiack the other FX 6 thread, so I apologize if this is redundant, but....

I AM SO EXCITED THAT I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO GET MY FX 6 DELIVERED UP HERE TO ME!!! I've been waiting since I purchased it on Black Friday!

First thought was OMG the box is huge. LOL! Second thought was after I took it out of the box and realized how massive it really was. Third thought was, how on EARTH am I going to get this thing up and running on my 55 gal. I'm worried, it won't be *too* much power for a tank that size will it? Do I have to "dial it in" for a tank that size? I notice there are knobs on the top (I'll be honest right now, i have not bothered to look at my users manual yet as I i haven't done much in the way of investigating it since it arrived over the weekend and I was busy. And i'm a ways out on setting up the tank as we need a stand built for it.) At about what height should this filter be sitting in relation to tank for water travel? Does it matter? I was hoping to keep it in the cabinet underneath the operations for a cleaner look, but if needs a rise, perhaps externally behind and/or next to the stand?

Anyone have set up pics they can share with the FX6 and any tips or supplies extra I'll need. I think I just got the filter and some tubing itself. I'll take it completely out of the box tonight and see what inventory it came with and get back with what I have in the box. 8)

Take your time , get some coffee , your stand all's good now. They call that head height , max for the FX6 is 3.3m or 10.8 feet. I don't have one , always a DIY guy , but looking to get one soon. Getting older/health and just looking for better help with maintenance. Doing lots of homework and FX6 is tops! Don't worry about height with 10.8 ' lift doesn't matter.

Wow, that took a long time :) Don't forget, if you got one of the newer models, you can get a free gravel vacuum kit for it.

I don't think mine is the newer model. It took awhile because my friend is a charter bus driver and he picked it up for me from the cities. Well, I was suppose to get it on my way down to the cities for my birthday as I drove through the town he lives in to get down there, but we couldn't line anything up. Then inclement weather and everything else, and it just didn't work. Lol. So FINALLY a bus was coming up to my home town for a girls high school basket ball game, so he put my filter on that bus and i met up with the driver at the school and got it. I wasn't in a rush to get it as I still need a stand that will support a tank set up that size. My current stand is only for my 30 gal or whatever she's in currently. (don't judge me. lol. )
